This Directorate is assigned with the work of Collection, Compilation, and Submission of crop estimates to the Provincial and Federal Government as well as to other various quarters. Land utilization statistics, which covers Geographical Area, Cultivated, Cropped and Uncultivated Areas. Crop Situation Report, Agricultural Machinery Data, Area irrigated by different sources, Gallop Crop Surveys, and the preparation of the annual publication titled “Agricultural Statistics of Balochistan”, Preparation of various reports such as drought, pest, and flood reports, and working papers for different Federal and Provincial level meetings. The Crop Reporting Services, Agriculture Department is responsible for providing all sorts of agricultural statistics, such as the area and production of all crops, growning Balochistan according to the crop calendar circulated by the Federal Government. |

| Way Forward |
Presently, the methodology used for the collection of crop estimates and other related Agriculture Statistics is purely subjective. Over the last three years, estimates for cash crops (wheat, rice, and cotton) have also been compiled using remote sensing technology to improve reliability and accuracy of crop statistics. To further strengthen this methodology, the wing is now capable of compiling crop estimates, stress mapping in crops, and assessing flood damage through remote sensing technology, which is an advanced technology used for crop area estimation.
